I’m running for Solano County Board of Education to be of service and to make a broader positive impact on our young people, our schools, and our community.
I've worked for decades to improve the lives of others, and on the Board of Education, I will help ensure that EVERY
child has full access to their education and is able to reach their highest potential.
I’m a pediatrician, mom, and community volunteer and have expertise and practical experience caring for tens of thousands of local kids, youth and families over 30+ years in Solano and Napa Counties.
As a pediatrician, I have professional training to solve big problems using evidence-based policy solutions.
I know what it means to stand up for our most vulnerable people and to prioritize well-being, health and safety.
Education has been my pathway to opportunity. In high school I attended Vocational Technical school in commercial art and was able to work in that field as a senior in High School. I then worked to put myself through college, and chose to pursue a career in medicine.
I have first-hand experience as a parent in advocating for appropriate educational services and worked closely with teachers, school administration and the County Office of Education. In turn, I’ve been able to help numerous parents advocate effectively for their children.
Enriching the lives of our children and youth will improve our entire community and help create a thriving future for all. I‘ll work to ensure our schools are places where all students can find opportunity, purpose and success, whether they’re college bound or learn a valuable trade.
I ran for this office in 2020 during the pandemic and was only 3 votes short out of 36,000 ballots cast for this seat. I'm running again because I want better representation and believe, with my depth and breath of knowledge, experience and problem solving skills, I'm the best person to be Trustee of our Board of Education Area 2.
I’m endorsed by Doctors, the Napa Solano Central Labor Council, the State and Local Teacher’s Associations, Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA). I'm also endorsed by many parents, students, elected officials, community leaders and individuals.
